Rock of Ages

For our day trip last week, we went to a place called Stourhead. I didn't know much about it, but my teacher said the scene in the Kira Knightly's version of Pride and Prejudice where Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are in the rain and he proposes was in Stourhead, I started freaking out a little bit. The place was absolutely gorgeous. No wonder they filmed the movie there.

This was the first thing we saw when we walked in. It was soooooooo beautiful.

This is the pavilion where the rain scene was filmed. I pretty much ran to it. My inner nerd was coming out.
This was me trying to do a dramatic pose

One of the workers said this is the spot on the wall where Kira Knightley leaned on. So naturally, I had to do it as well.

After that, we went to Bath. It was probably the most beautiful town I have ever seen.
The water wasn't the cleanest, as you can probably tell it hasn't been changed in a while. Usually water isn't green haha.

Stonehenge was out last stop.

 This is me and Kate.

Harry Potter Studios

A few weeks ago, about half the study abroad group bought tickets to go see the Harry Potter Studios. I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan, but I decided to go anyway because I wanted to see what it was like. It's amazing how many people absolutely love Harry Potter in my group. It's almost like a lifestyle for them. One of the girls even works for a Harry Potter website! They always get into deep conversations about the books and I'm just like, "Well, I know Harry has a scar on his forehead and Ron Weasley has red hair. that's about all I know." But it was fun seeing the excitement of these girls when we got to the studios.

This is the picture of the entrance.

So before we even left for the studio tour, a few hard core Potter fans were talking about this quiz you take online that J.K. Rowling helped make herself that determines whether you are in Gryffindor (Harry is in this one), Slytherin (The bad guys are in this one), Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff.  Most of the girls either got Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, and a few got Hufflepuff. The test asked pretty specific questions so they thought it was pretty accurate. I decided to take it on my iPad while they were talking.  My result was Slytherin, the one with all the bad guys. Needless to say I didn't tell them my results because they probably would have taken it too seriously and thought I really was this horrible person who would destroy the world with magic.

These were the doors to the first set we saw. The girls in my group ran up so fast it was amazing. They beat all the little kids which was impressive haha.

This was the the grand hall room in the movie where all the kids eat. I should have gotten a picture of the girls. A few of them almost started crying they were so excited.

These are some of the real costumes used in the movie by the actors.

Why I decided to wear a Campbell's shirt when I was going to the Harry Potter studios I will never know. Maybe they ate Campbell's soup for some of their meals in this room.
Alan Rickman's costume as Severus Snape. He was my favorite character in the movies.

These are the wands used in the movies.
These are the costumes. They are pretty short guys, and Emma Watson needs to eat a cheeseburger because her costumes was tiny!
This was the set for Dumbledore's office area.
These were the outfits for the quittitch matches. The guys in my old ward would love this part of the tour haha. (A good portion of the guys in my old ward played on national quidditch teams).

 Helena Bonham Carter's costume.
 Voldemort's costume

Me with a triple decker bus.

For the movie, they built a castle to film some of the scenes in the movie. I have to admit it was pretty amazing.
