Me doing an awkward pose
Starting from the left is Regan, Ashley, me, Marisa, and Lorin
The ceiling of one of the roomsI don't know much about art history, but I took pictures of these anyway because I am sure they are famous.
Another picture of a ceiling. They were just so cool looking!
A HUGE painting that was in the same room as the Mona Lisa.
I can't even tell you how hard it was to get through the crowd of Asian tourists to get this picture. I had to do some elbow-pushing.
I had to take a picture of the crowd because I thought that was priceless. It was interesting to see most of the tourists were more worried about getting a picture of paintings than actually looking at the art. They would walk up to a piece of artwork, hurry and take a picture, and walk away. They didn't even look at it and appreciate it.
Funny story, when we were walking down the hall to see the Mona Lisa, an elderly Indian woman stopped me and asked in her thick accent if I would take a picture of her in front of a statue. I agreed and proceeded to show me how to take a picture on her phone. I couldn't help but laugh because it is pretty self explanatory, especially on an iPhone. After I took the picture, She thanked me and started living up her hand towards my face. For some reason, I gave her a high five because I thought that's what she was doing. It made me laugh because it was literally a clash of cultures. She was probably going to softly touch my forehead because that's how her culture probably said thank you. But me being oblivious thought she was doing the typical American thank you form of a high five. It definitely will be a high five I will never forget.
We then decided to go see Saint Chapelle, which is a cathedral that has a room completely full of stained glass. Before we went inside, we had to get out bags checked. The guys checking out bags were mesmerized by Ashley (who has bright blonde hair) and shook her hand and told her how beautiful she is. It's funny because this is not the first time this has happened to her. Blondes are not very common in London, and especially in Paris so people are always staring at her and creeping her out. It's pretty funny… and creepy. The homeless men were the creepiest because they would stare at her on the metro. But anyway, here are some pictures haha.
We got lunch after and this was my awesome sandwich in a baguette. We should start making sandwiches in baguettes in America, they are delicious.
Our next stop was Love Lock Bridge. It was fun to see.
This is me doing a sad face because everyone was putting a lock on the bridge, but I didn't have anyone to "lock" my love with. Maybe I should have locked my love with chocolate croissants.
